Throwback Thursday - Before We Lowered the Couch

Cleo under the Couch

Yes, you indeed read the title correctly and you are starring at the South end of a North bound puppy. That my friends is Cleo, or at least part of her, when she was a puppy and this is how she used to take naps. She would crawl beneath one of the two matching couches we have in the living room. As time passed she found it more and more difficult to squeeze her way under there and I even had to move the couch more than once retrieve her. We had an ongoing joke that she obviously did not realize she was getting too big to sleep under the couch anymore and wondered if in her mind she thought that we were actually lowering couch to prevent her from crawling beneath it.

Good morning JL Boney, III,

I love this photo!! Cleo obviously loves that spot for her naps and is not about to give up her favorite spot! Great title!

Hi JL,
That's funny.  When you find a spot you like, you want to stick with it.  Can't you put some risers under there?  Come on. Be a good Daddy.

That is so cute. Thanks for sharing your story with us. Like many of us, we are younger and possibly thinner in our minds.

JL,

Our cats did that when they were kittens, and then came the day when it got harder to come out, now it was a good hiding place for their toys...And we have to help to retrieve them. A

How cute!  And, yeah, like Carol Williams said, you need risers for that sofa if she gets any bigger.

JL, you're going to have to have "the Talk" with Cleo and make sure she understands that she's no longer a size 2.

How cute!  It's funny how our pets develop odd habits like that.

I use to have a dog that would do that while trying to hide.  She never seemed to realize that her tail poking out was giving her away.
