Well, I guess it's not quite wordless altogether. I'll at the very least explain what these are and where they were taken for anyone who is curious. These are Orchids as you may have guessed from the catchy title. They are in the green house on the grounds of the Biltmore Mansion in Asheville, N.C. The pictures were taken on a recent trip. The weather wasn't the best ever, as there was a light rain and it was cloudy most of the day. But it was my very first trip to the Biltmore and we had a great time anyway.

Very pretty!! I love the spotted one . . .
How beautiful, my sister in law grows orchids in her backyard. I would kill them, so just enjoy hers!
They are beauties JL! I've never grown them myself but I sure do appreciate their beauty!
That top one is really cool. I've never tried to grow these ... yet.
JL....there are so many different kinds of orchids. I also like the spotted one.
Carla- I think that one is my favorite too.
D and D- Some of them aren't so bad to grow, it just depends on the type you get.
Cynthia- I have had some of them before, but I don't like the really difficult ones.
Steve- You should give it a shot.
Bill- There are tons of them.
So lovely...a client of mine raises orchids in his greenhouse. These ones are beauties.
Sea to Sky- It can be a very relaxing thing to do.
gorgeoous i love orchids...although I always seem to kill them..
Just in case anyone was wondering, I believe these different varieties of Phalaenopsis. My father in-law raised them and many other kinds in his green house.
JL: Love the spotted orchid. Very beautiful. Orchids are far too delicate to be trusted to me. I have killed many a flowering plant in my day.
Konnie- That's easy to do with some of them.
Nick- Thanks for the info my friend, I'm sure that it must have been really neat to see all of them.
Chris Ann- I've killed a few in my day as well.
JL -- these are beautiful photos --- thanks so much for sharing.
Mama Liz
