I hear a lot of talk about the future and how the future of the real estate business will shape up. The fact is that I see what I consider to be a lot of common misconceptions on what the future actually is and when it becomes that present. Time is always relative and it waits for no one and nothing. In fact, the future is already here and by the time you make it to this point in the post, the beginning of this paragraph is already the past.
While the future is nice thing to think about, it's truly unpredictable, so focusing on the present is one of the best things you can do.

By the time you have the thought that "this" is the future of real estate, the future is already here. It's a never ending struggle to remain on top of this ever changing industry and maintain relavence. The thing that has helped me the most is to look at the future as a curve ball to swing at when i see it cross the plate. Otherwise you are just taking shots in the dark with no target to hit in the first place.
So what is the future of real estate, it's what ever you make it. Follow the trends of the people and go where they go. They are already doing it, so why shouldn't you? After all, the point is stay in front of people, not curve balls. Of course you may want to stay in line with people, it does you no good to be way up there alone.

Al anyone really has is now. You can't live in the past or future, only in the now.
JL...very well put. We deal in the furure everyday. We get to tomorrow's future quicker than next monday's future, bet we get there everyday.
JL - It's a journey not a destination! I always try to run in the opposite direction of the herd
JL...
The good thing is that the future always is ahead of us ... the bad thing is that we can't learn from it!
We will always know where to find the future, right in front of us.
And then there are folks that look at it through hindsight . . . I like what you said: The future is what we make it!
JL, one thing is certain people will always need to sell or need to buy! It's developing a relationship and nurturing it and learning everyday that will ensure our success!
JL --you are so right --- real estate is constantly changing and one must stay on top of the changes and be a leader --- not a follower.
Mama Liz
JL - "Back to the future" is a sad mantra some Realtors(r) guise themselves. Times have changed and so has the delivery methods of our business. Adapt, modify, and embrace the future . Smart Post !
"The good old days are here and now, it's all we ever really have."
I am LOVING it.
Carpe Diem!!!
Marilyn- I look at it the same way.
Bill- It's always right there my friend.
Nevin- I never liked the pack mentality myself.
Richard- No, but we can take a good guess.
Don- And there it is.
Carla- I am a firm believer in that statement.
Laura- Can't argue with any of that.
Liz- I never was a very good follower.
Claude- We have to if we want to stick around.
Candice- Strong statement, thanks.
Hi JL-You are wise my friend. Are you sure that is your current pic and you aren't really a wise old man. <SMILE> Great job my friend. Hope your week has been going well. <SMILE>
JL - The philosopher is in eh? I can't believe how it's changed since '85 when I started. The old roller paper faxes, picking up keys to show homes.... I think the new technology we have is great!
So what is the future of real estate, it's what ever you make it.
You hit the nail on the head right there JL.
Otherwise the only thing left is back to the future.
Sharon- I feel like an old man most of the time, but the pic truly is current.
April- Technology will always change things, by leaps and bounds at the time.
Cameron- Once and a while I pick a winner my friend.
JL- Great points. The future is what we make it. Be negative, it will be negative. Be positive, it will be positive.
The future of real estate is adapting to the constant changes - reinventing yourself for the market of today, while looking ahead to the market of tomorrow. I embrace the future of real estate!
